More than 100 people killed in Pakistan Taliban school siege including 84 children

http://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2014/dec/16/over-100-people-killed-in-pakistan-taliban-school-siege-says-provincial-chief-minister-live-updates
<snip>
The Taliban attacked a military-run school on Tuesday, because they wanted revenge for the Pakistani military targeting their own families, a spokesman for the militant group said, according to Reuters. Muhammad Umar Khorasani is quoted as saying:

We selected the army’s school for the attack because the government is targeting our families and females. We want them to feel the pain.

Peshawar is in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the north-west province in Pakistan that borders Afghanistan. The Pakistani has been carrying out an offensive against the Taliban in the region.

You have to choose your sources carefully, but Twitter breaks most news first. You also have to remember that this news may not be accurate but it can be the beginning of a big story.

Two examples were Sandy Hook and the Boston Marathon Bombing. They began as tweets here and there. The Boston bombing escalated quickly.
Sandy Hook took more time to confirm, but it got worse and worse after each tweet. It was horrible.

Oct 2013--As of this writing, BIJ’s number of civilians killed in Pakistan since 2004 runs from 407 to 926 (the number of children killed is 168 to 200). The total killed is between 2,525 and 3,613. This leaves a civilian death rate that ranges greatly---between as low as eleven percent and as high as thirty-seven percent.

An eye for an eye makes the entire world blind.

BBC has non-stop coverage - there is no excuse for US media.
100 children are now dead.

happened early this morning. More of a time difference than an editorial decision to ignore the slaughter of nearly 100 schoolkids.

By the way, the hostage perp is a well known criminal in Australia, not just some Islamist that fit CNN's storyline.

He is the only Religious Animal. He is the only animal that has the True Religion--several of them. He is the only animal that loves his neighbor as himself and cuts his throat if his theology isn't straight. He has made a graveyard of the globe in trying his honest best to smooth his brother's path to happiness and heaven....The higher animals have no religion. And we are told that they are going to be left out in the Hereafter. I wonder why? It seems questionable taste.

Children as young as two years old. An eye for an eye does not care about children.
BBC has excellent coverage including condemnation from unusual folks like cricketers and Bollywood stars.

No one can breathe on this planet and people are waking up.
