posts (like 1,000; 5,000; etc.). She was up past 100,000 posts if I remember correctly. There was a time here when you couldn't see post numbers, too. It was just more and less than 1,000.

I believe that poster passed away, though I may be mistaken. New Yorker.

(Not saying that New Yorker was doing that. - sounds like she was being welcoming and warm.)

Those milestones threads were fun to see, and must have taken a fair amount of work (especially after they switched to the 1000+ format for post counts). She used to remember posters' birthdays, too (well, those who made their birthdays known), and posted a monthly birthday thread.

She certainly helped create a sense of community here.

me! And, I had used her name because it seemed every other name when I first came online in 2002 was taken ..so I looked around my bedroom and there was photo of her.. and I thought.. no one will have that name.

I remember yours.. At first I thought you were in NYC.. but, you 'splained that to me way back in the day.

Sadly missed. She became ill, and stopped posting, though someone in a relatively recent thread said they think she is still alive. She always welcomed new posters, and was a frequent mod on DU2 (mod discussions happened in a forum, so you end up making a lot of short posts), but she was also just very, very friendly and busy on DU.
