The Cuba outcry from the right should dissipate rather quickly

The repubs will start to see the dollar signs. Sure, there will be wingnut zealots banging the drum for a while, but they will be drowned out shortly by the commerce wing of the party as soon as they can figure out how to make a boatload of money in the new reality.

This is a fixation among a very small and shrinking group of voters. Everybody else either doesn't care or thinks the current policy is bone stupid.

Lots of people want to drink Havana Club seven year and smoke Cohibas without all this bullshit from two generations ago, never mind weekend trips to Varedero.

For all the anti-communist rhetoric the conservatives bleat, they are yet remarkably tolerant of the policy of engagement with communist China. Of course we know that's true because the commerce wing uses China for rent-seeking and labor arbitrage. They'll soon see Cuba as another maliquidora. Not that it is a good thing, but it does paint the wingnuts as they are: Xenophobes.

It's funny when the progressive thing to do also inadvertently helps business.

It always puts Repukes in a horrible position.
