I think our acceptance of sanctioned torture and assassination in "entertainment"

is a disturbing sign of the times. I feel the architects of endless war and global hegemony have used continual fear to strip us of our values and humanity. This will likely offend the flag wavers among us, but I haven't been proud to be an American for quite some time.

Say the movie was made about England. Even our allies would not laugh it off. This shows such a lack of any moral compass that so many people actually thought this was a good idea.

North Korea could, of course, go thru diplomatic channels to demand an apology and that the movie not be shown.

I'm assuming the movie is a comedy?

2. Violence as a solution

Our entertainment has been displaying violence as a primary solution for conflict for a long time. It has become comical if it wasn't so sad. The "heroes" in movies are almost always the person who displays the greatest capacity to exercise targeted acts of violence in order to solve conflict. They have morphed the old "Mission Impossible" show, which used deception and misdirection into a typical action flick where guns and bombs are the primary tool. And anything that doesn't follow this pattern tends to get quickly labeled a "chick flick" or "date movie". We have a whole string of series television in which the lead characters are basically violent criminals (Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, etc.).

"Chick Flick": A movie in which killing is represented as "bad" and adultery as an unfortunate but often necessary part of a larger process.

"Guy Flick": A movie in which adultery is represented as "bad" and killing is an unfortunate but often necessary part of a larger process.
