They're back: Bald eagle camera makes its return to nest in Hays(Pittsburgh)

Eagle watch 2015 starts today. This morning volunteers from the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania and PixController installed an improved high-tech wildlife camera system overlooking the bald eagle nest in the Pittsburgh community of Hays.

In recent weeks, at least one of the immature Hays eaglets was spotted in the Pittsburgh area. The eagle parents have remained near the nest, located in a hackberry tree overlooking the Monongahela River, and for about a month have been making restorations. Re-installation of the camera system is expected to cause a temporary disturbance, and mating will begin in mid-January.
