Consumer Cellular logs 30% growth, hits 1.7M customers

Not LBN worthy yet, but getting there. Their customer service is all located inside the US. High satisfaction rate. Uses AT&T's network.

Does anyone remember their late night commercials with the twins?

Consumer Cellular, one of the region's largest private companies, hit a few major milestones this year.

The mobile phone carrier, which is marketed to older consumers, experienced a 30 percent growth in business and inked almost 1.7 million customers.

Much of this growth was driven by a significant expansion of its retail presence. This year the company rolled out plans at more than 1,800 Target stores across the country and it increased the number of Sears stores carrying product to roughly 750.

Earlier this year, CEO John Marick highlighted some big numbers for the company, including that it is closing in on the $500 million revenue mark.
