Until I read this, I wasn't sure how I felt about voting for Hillary. Now I AM sure...that she won't get my vote. Fracking is one of my hot issues.

I live in rural Utah, less than 10 miles from a major oil fracking setup. I rely on ground water for culinary, irrigation and the well on my property. The issue of fracking is a big deal to me.

Ohio has had its share of fracking accidents this year. In May, a blowout resulted in an oil spill into an Ohio river tributary. And then this happened the following month:

On the morning of June 28, a fire broke out at a Halliburton fracking site in Monroe County, Ohio. As flames engulfed the area, trucks began exploding and thousands of gallons of toxic chemicals spilled into a tributary of the Ohio River, which supplies drinking water for millions of residents. More than 70,000 fish died.

exploitation of us dumb hilljack. Jobs, jobs, jobs is always the big hook. They never pan out. Sure a few have gotten jobs. Mostly the educated, or those with CDLs to haul water. A pump sitter is advertised at $16.00/hr., but they don't tell applicants that the job is salary and they may work 16 hour days.

The only people around here making money are the extractors and the residents who owned enough land to sell or lease. They sign on the dotted line and high tail it out of here for "better weather." All it has done for average Joe is bump up home and apartment rental prices. The roughnecks who are highly paid are all brought in from out of state. I see tons of Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana license plates on a daily basis.

That isn't even half of it. Don't even get me started on their ridiculous PR campaigns. It's a scourge.

This should be one of the top subjects on the website. This gas leak is very dangerous and taking a very long time to get under control. Since it is in a rural area, it appears that most people are not interested. All that gas that is leaked is going into the air we all breath. The resulting air pollution is blowing to the east coast, so the east coasters should be interested in what is being done to Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

The dirty industries that promise jobs to the impoverished of Appalachia are grifters and scam artists. These industries leave these places even more impoverished by destroying the land we live on. Polluting the water supply, contaminating the soils and degrading the water quality of our surface waters all contribute to the destruction of our property values further impoverishing already struggling populations. The pollution poisons our children, therefore, causing them to be even more impoverished by limiting their mental development.

Rural populations have been classified as disposable for decades. Rural people are thoroughly brainwashed now. They consistently vote for people who turn right around and allow these industries to poison their families.
