too cheap to pay his primetime hosts to air new shows/re-runs. Plus I think LockUp still has a decent amount of viewers, anyway.

MSNBC news turns off on weekends and holidays, so Comcast most likely makes more profit off their prison programs than they do from producing the more costly and labor intensive news shows. If their viewership was higher and generated better ratings they could charge more for their advertising slots and afford to expand their news production.

I had hoped for some holiday specials -- not new but just some nice holiday reruns. Maybe tomorrow. For now I am happy with PBS News Hour.
