Pope Francis: ‘There are so many tears this Christmas’

This pope is impressive. He shows compassion.

Pope: ‘There are so many tears this Christmas’

VATICAN CITY – Pope Francis focused his concern on those weeping in the world this Christmas, singling out refugees, abused children, hostages and others suffering in the Middle East, Africa, Ukraine and elsewhere as he prayed for hope and peace Thursday.

Anguish for children who are mistreated or victims of violence, including those who died in the recent terrorist attack on a Pakistani military school, tempered the pontiff’s traditional Christmas message, which he delivered to a crowd of about 80,000 from a balcony at St. Peter’s Basilica.

“Truly, there are so many tears this Christmas,” Francis said, noting all the pain and suffering in the world.

....Referring to refugees and exiles, he prayed: “May indifference be changed into closeness, and rejection into hospitality.”

He expressed hope they’d receive humanitarian help to withstand the “rigors of winter, return to their countries and live with dignity.”

Still an atavistic shithead in a lot of ways important to DUers, but at least he's acting like a Christian, which is a big improvement.

to the degraded status of livestock to be exploited, second-class citizens in our own Church, is not Christian in any genuine sense of the term.

The pope also denounced abortion, and his thoughts turned to “infants killed in the womb, deprived of that generous love of their parents and then buried in the egoism of a culture that does not love life.”

What a load of hate speech horseshit. All infants, ever, have already been born. And females can now live fully realized and actualized lives - which we DO love. This prick wants to strip that all away from Catholic women - indeed, ALL women.

SSDD. At the end of the day, this prick walks all over half of the human race, just like Ratzinger and Wojtyła before him.

not just heterosexual males.

This POS is just like all the rest of them. It's too late, especially for Catholic women. I will not see the end of oppression and degradation of females in the Church in my lifetime.

Fuck him. Infants have already been born, and women are not livestock to be exploited in gestational slavery against their will.

I hate this hypocrite, boo-hooing about children being trafficked, when his mob supports the exploitation of human females and the seizing of the products of gestational slavery, for the specific purpose of huge profits from slave labor and human trafficking, in the billion-dollar global human trafficking adoption syndicate.

I just find it so hard to believe that DU now allows someone to say f*** the pope. Doesn't it bother anyone else??

I just posted a video of Outfoxed, one of the strongest videos against Fox ever...someone told me to stop watching Fox.

DU has always and forever had those of us who hold and state such views about the leader of a homophobic and misogynistic organization. This isn't fresh or new... and it shouldn't be shocking or offensive. The RCC's stance on women's reproductive rights and the civil rights of women and LGBT is.
