First There Was Dennis Miller, Then Victoria Jackson,Now SNL's Jon Lovitz Joins the Anti Obama Party

Makes sense. I mean, Dennis Miller found a new fan base when he turned Republican and Victoria Jackson has a new fan base and career with the Tea Party. I guess Jon Lovitz saw a way of making a comeback and took it.

It doesn't seem to be much of an evaluation of Obama, more like an internal evaluation of the FU attitude Hollywood can have. Sounds like a guy who made a lot of money at one time and now doesn't know where it went. Now is older and not in demand anymore. Blaming Obama and taxes for likely a lot of stuff left unsaid. Who knows? Some times the president is a tangible target for people anger. All in all who knows, come November he might end up voting Obama again

He made sure he told us he was a Democrat and voted for Obama. My question is, why so angry then? He sounds angry that the rich has to pay more in taxes. Um, does Jon qualify? I mean is Jon Lovitz worth 15-20 million? Does he make over 250 thousand dollars a year?I don't see Jon Lovits as a the one percent. His anger and rage sounds a bit forced to me. I'm sure he will be invited as a guest on the Politichicks show and Fox may even bring him in for his political commentary on certain issues.

something that affected the cast members from that generation....

or else they're at that age when they realize they're no longer relevant,
no long the name on everyone's lips.
They aren't invited to all the cool parties anymore.
Just as cruise entertainment on the AARP cruises...

life ain't so cool anymore..
so ya gotta jump on whatever train that gets them in the news..
very sad.
They should have tried therapy first...
Or selling crap on QVC.

Anyone remember Al Franken's radio show on Air America? This was way before Victoria Jackson started in about the crazy stuff she spews nowadays. Anyway, Al use to hint and say things Victoria use to say. Quote bible scripture. Not being comfortable doing some skits because she thought they pushed the envelope. Stuff like that. I think Victoria has always been a little nutty. She was quiet during the Bush years. Wasn't til Obama got in when she started showing her true colors. Wish I can remember some of the stuff Franken use to say about her.

On a side note, Dana Carvey was on Jay Leno's show not long ago and praised Obama.

So he called Obama an asshole. Hey, I have too. Presidents by definition are almost always an asshole at one time or another.

Now, if he goes on to dribble wholesale shit from his mouth like Miller and Jackson then I will change my opinion. But getting pissed and calling the president an asshole is every american's right.

No matter that it is barely coherent.

Kevin Pollak says that, in LA, being asked to be one someone else's podcast is the new jury duty.

Everybody's got one... and if your career peaked long ago, like Jon's, it's all you've got.

I don't know what his true political beliefs are. Don't care. But this is a transparent publicity stunt aimed at getting attention for his podcast.

Come on, at their height of popularity and talent, these were 4th tier comics at best.
They have to do something to get on the TV and in the news. They can't rely on their talent and abilities to get a gig.

All of them were from the "second wave" of SNL in the mid to late 80's.

I thought the show went downhill during that time (except for the musical guests)

Sure, they're getting paid in blood money from cancervatives right now, but when that train has sailed*, they'll drop so low that they can't even do mall openings.

*I know I'm not the first idiot who said that, but it's what came to mind. Went to edit/fix it, but thought it was almost at least as dumb as the guy who first cast asparagus in Freekland.
