One can only conclude that the normal run of human beings can pass evals, but still are pretty evil.

Screen out those who actually show empathy and compassion, because the theory is that people who show empathy will find it harder to deal with the stress of the job. The only drawback is that all that are left are the sociopaths.

That's in their headline. The words in the link itself suggest they may have experienced the same language softening, though I did not see any previous articles there. I was just searching to find out if the jerk's been arrested yet.

That was going to fit in nicely with the media meme of "NYPD under fire" because this was another uniformed employee being assaulted.

Then we discover it was a criminal cop, and the meme blew up.

something i have sadly learned to do as i have watched the 4th estate crumble in my lifetime.
if you cant read between the lines, there is little point to reading at all.
