Florida Man Allegedly Decapitates Mother For 'Nagging' Him About Chores

The Florida man who is charged with murder after allegedly decapitating his mother on New Year's Eve told police that he did it because she wouldn't stop "nagging" him about doing his chores.

Christian Gomez, 23, also told authorities that he had committed the murder because he felt his mother favored his brother over him.

"In a very calm, cool way, he explained what he did, why he did it and what happened and by talking to him, you wouldn't know he had any mental illness... that's very scary," Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri told WFLA.

Especially before and after an episode that leads to horrific violence and/or death. The accused has been previously diagnosed with schizophrenia, a disease notorious for being hard on the patient and those around the patient, as well as being resistant to treatment. The vast majority of those with schizophrenia/schizo-affective disorders never harm anyone, but can often display disordered behavior.

Schizophrenia and schizo-affective disorders are very hard to treat, for a variety of reasons: the disease itself causes such disordered thought process ("sick people need pills, I'm not sick, so I'll stop taking my pills" or "someone is trying to control or hurt me with these pills&quot ; the treatment can cause unpleasant side-effects that cause noncompliance while therapy is adjusted; and the stigma these diagnoses carry can make patients deny their diagnoses and become noncompliant with therapy.

They are horrible diseases, for both the patient and those who love them, but the vast majority of these patients never become violent towards others.

Well, now instead of his mother asking him to do chores, he'll have armed prison guards doing it.
