A black James Bond? Wouldn't work. He'd be pulled over every 15 minutes for driving an Aston Martin.

That would actually make a good plot twist if they do have a black James Bond - he comes to the US and has problems with racism.

But have you travelled much?

I have been to more than 30 countries in the last 3 years - and I can certainly tell you that racism against blacks is NOT an US only thing.

I have seen MUCH worse racism (and it aint just white and black) in many places. The manner Sri Lankan, Indian, Pakistan etc citizens are treated by residents of the UAE\Qatar\Saudi is pretty much criminal. In most of former Soviet Bloc countries, black folk are mostly non existant and are treated very poorly. Aborigenes in Australia suffer almost as much as the Native Americans.

The US has a horrible track record at race....but the more I travel, the more I realize we are not alone in wearing that scarlet letter.

That said - Idris Elba would FUCKING KILL IT as Bond!!! I am pretty straight....but would bend a bit for that man

I've never been outside the US - but from what I've seen in films I thought much of the world was less racist than the American South were I've spent most of my life. I should know better!

While I am sure I've seen Idris Elba in a few things, I don't remember him. But I would love to see the James Bond movie series step outside their traditional comfort zone. Maybe at the same time, they could lessen the sexism!

"The Limits of Control"? The film is Jarmusch's strange take on secret agent spy films.

It starred Isaach De Bankolé. "

Jackson OWNED that role. The usual suspects are gonna be the ones that freak about a black Bond. I actually think the canon of those films has been tweaked so many times that even the non racist franchise purists will give it a go. Assuming it's a good film.

The comics had a nick fury that was drawn to look like Samuel Jackson years before he appeared on film.
