I have nothing against banjos or dancing. But I think the State Senator from Oklahoma is an out-of-touch putz. Using the term "minstrel troupes" helps solidify that opinion.

(30,884 posts)A hood keeps the head warm. A hood can also reduce the risk of getting wet during rain or snowstorms. A hood offers some protect to the back of the neck and scalp (especially for bald heads) when it's sunny.
So how the hell would one determine if wearing it was related to weather?

Hoods were not a common article of clothing for the black face minstrel show, they commonly wore top hats and waistcoats.
