Breathe, because I can't. I am in shock.

The NYPD now explains why they are so mad at The Mayor in an Op-Ed, poor babies so sadly misunderstood. Two of their own died and that hit them hard. They say it was a senseless killing, and it was. I agree, it is sad and I mourn those families. Needless and senseless killings. Yet you could not put off your childish act of disrespect toward the mayor for your fallen members at their funerals. You could not give it a day to attack you did it there. That was juvenile and ugly.

Oh, then you doubled down in your so called grief for your fallen minority brothers. You attacked the Mayors black wife. WTF? She wore jeans? No she did not, she has more respect for the fallen minority members that you ever will.

So. Let us take this a step further. How the hell do you feel about Eric Garners death!!!!! Where is your OP about this vile murder. When do you people stand up and speak up on this?

This act has unleashed a torrent of anger and grief among the members of the Police Department, who take these vile murders personally, and a heartening outpouring of sympathy from ordinary New Yorkers, who instinctively grasp what it has meant at a moment when the police feel demonized, demoralized and, at times, literally under assault.

How the hell do you think the BLACK COMMUNITY FEELS ABOUT BEING DEMONIZED, DEMORALIZED AND, AT TIMES, LITERALLY UNDER ASSAULT!

I can't breathe~ 17 times he said this.

His daughter lies in the place that he died for 17 minutes.

I can't breathe I can't breathe I can't breathe I can't breathe I can't breathe I can't breathe I can't breathe I can't breathe I can't breathe I can't breathe I can't breathe I can't breathe I can't breathe I can't breathe I can't breathe I can't breathe I can't breathe..................................................................

And they weren't done yet. They go on here. Holy Mother of Gawd. Deep breathe here. There audacitity to make this all about them and not the dead BLACK MEN THEY THEY ARE MURDERING AT AN ALARMING RATE!!! THIS IS ABOUT THEM? THEY ARE TONE DEAF!!!!

It did not help to tell the world about instructing his son, Dante, who is biracial, to be wary of the police, or to publicly signal support of anti-police protesters (for instance, by standing alongside the Rev. Al Sharpton, a staunch backer of the protests). If there is any self-pity involved, which I doubt, it is only because we lack respect from our elected officials and parts of the media. It has taken two dead cops for some people to take a step back and realize what a difficult job cops have.

When ya start tracing back the involvement of the Bush family, how they have continued, from back then & up to today, it is a family that has always been somewhere in the shadows with their power and associations. Their move into the Office of President, so often in our US history should point the suspicious arrow directly at the Bush Crime Family.
Continuous power in controlling secrecy & policy for the benefit of their own, throughout US history by one family is pretty much organized crime.

I like sheshe and most others here feel bad for the loss of the two officers who were just doing their job at the time they were murdered. If there were grievances there were other appropriate ways the rank and file could have aired those. They chose to follow the lead of the union president and make it a personal vendetta against the mayor and to disrespect their own police chief.

This guy seems to be out for blood and willing to use the rank and file officers to get it. I agree, they need to consider removing him from office and get someone to represent them who will listen, not act like a jackass.

there had to be nine or ten defending the mayor and pointing out how screwed-up and petty that shameful, childish "turn-your-back" police pout-fest was. They're correct to do that. What a miserable, shitty thing to do at someone's funeral. Especially when the family of the deceased evidently ASKED, SPECIFICALLY, for that NOT to be done. Amazing. Disgraceful.

Garner was wrongfully and violently assaulted and that led directly to his death. In my opinion, there should have been indictments. But I wouldn't say that he was murdered because no one was trying to kill him. It was more like involuntary manslaughter.

I understand police have a tough job. I understand that even though there are some bad ones, for the most part these are people trying to do a job that is necessary to a civilized society, and trying to do it with honor as they understand it.

But the actions of such a large segment of the NYPD to politicize the funerals of their brethren just fills me with disgust. When I think "NYPD" now, my stomach churns with disgust.

In general, I support police and respect the difficult job they have. But in general, I can NOT support the NYPD.

62. People who demonize---i.e. many police officers---do not take kindly to criticism.
Fri Jan 9, 2015, 03:19 AM
Jan 2015

That is because people demonize because they secretly hate themselves and are insecure, and so they are always looking for someone else to put down/blame in a futile effort to stop their own self loathing. But since you can not love yourself if you do not love others, their self hatred and insecurity grows to the point that any criticism--even people suggesting that they should not shoot innocent kids---becomes the most vicious sort of personal attack. Practically genocide to hear the poor babies whine.

Law enforcement, by its nature, will attract some fearful, self loathing people who should never be handed a gun and badge. Our society has the tools it needs to take these folks off the force, but it does not do so, because oppression of minorities is good for business--it drives down wages for all. That's how fascism works.
