Presidential hopeful and college dropout Scott Walker claims to have a Masters Degree

http://bloggingblue.com/2015/01/gov-scott-walker-talks-about-his-non-existent-masters-degree-ahead-of-presidential-run/

As he prepares for an all-but-certain presidential campaign in 2016, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is saying even though he didn’t graduate college he’s got a kind of master’s degree — just not the traditional kind you and I might expect.

“I’m like the majority of people in America,” Walker told Hugh Hewitt. “I’m someone who went to college, had the opportunity in my senior year to go and take a job full-time, which was not the only reason I went to college, but one of the biggest reasons was to get a job.”

Then he got married and started a family. “Like a lot of folks in America, you know, your family and your job take the time away from you finishing it up,” Walker continued. “I’ve got a master’s degree in taking on the big government special interests, and I think that is worth more than anything else that anybody can point to.”

Scott Walker is correct in saying that he’s like the majority of people in America in that he does not possess a college degree, and many Americans may find Scott Walker more relatable because of his lack of a college degree. What’s more, while a college degree is not a requirement to be wildly successful in our country, without seeing any polling I’d expect a majority of Americans expect their president to have a college degree. After all, more than showing an aptitude for learning, a college degree demonstrates an individual has an ability to follow through to the completion of a goal.

.... any of his credits transfer to another school. I have heard that he was cheating in
his school work but whatever he did it must have been pretty bad.

I will never believe that Walker won his last two races legitimately.

6. According to Politifact that's not true.

"Gov. Scott Walker was a student at Marquette from fall of 1986 until spring 1990 and was a senior in good standing when he voluntarily withdrew from Marquette," the university said in a statement.

That means that no conduct issues, academic or otherwise, blocked Walker from continuing in school at the time of his departure, MU spokesman Brian Dorrington told us in early December 2013.

When we asked Dorrington whether any conduct issues were on Walker’s earlier school record, he said Walker would have to permit release of that information. Walker did so in response to our request.

"Governor Walker was in good standing each term while he was enrolled at Marquette University and when he left Marquette University," Associate Vice Provost Anne Deahl said in a letter. "Governor Walker was not expelled or suspended from the university at any time."

3. In Baiting?

Jan 2015

Now now--I meant "baiting" as in "goading and baiting!" Nothing to do with "bating" as in "bated breath"...or anything else, for that matter...

He's an idiot. He could have gotten that degree, part time, online, night school, however. He's just too lazy or fearful to do the hard work. He can't claim he can't afford it, he could have been taking one course a semester, gotten a little life/work experience, etc., and gotten that sheepskin long ago.

When I think of the kids--and adults-- in my family who worked full time, some holding down more than one job, who managed to drag their asses through school I don't have any "respect" for his seeming PRIDE in the fact that he's uneducated--he can make the tuition payments, he has no excuse.

A college degree, these days, is like a high school diploma was fifty or seventy five years ago. It's an important thing to have if you want to enter public life.

10. And, I think, Goldwater last major-party candidate not to have one.

Years ago, I read the prediction that Goldwater would be the last -- that no major party would ever again nominate someone without a bachelor's. Perhaps Walker will prove that author wrong.

I would put Walker in the upper tier of Republican prospects in terms of his strength in November. Ted Cruz or Rand Paul would be an easier opponent.

some people will support ... although I've been happy to see in some on-line Packer groups that Wisconsin is more split than some people might think. Walker may have won re-election but he and Ryan are hated by many who have clued into their desire to end Social Security etc.
