Me, I listened to the speech he gave last night and thought he was spot on with everything he said. Rather than cultivate fear and hatred of France's Muslims, he made a point of talking about unity and inclusiveness and to point out what's being fought is terrorism, not religion.

I haven't seen you say anything about some of the extremely opposite sentiments expressed by some at DU over the past day or so. What do you think about the opinion that most Muslims are violent etc?

with the Muslims I know. So I would believe that they have nothing to do with average Muslims just living their lives. The Westboro church has nothing to do with what I believe. Black and white thinking here is kind of a dumbass thing to do.

unfortunately appears to remain in vocal numbers.

Those that reject the words of the French President are clearly no students of history.

No more and no less than me being an American results in my direct responsibility for the inmates at Guantanamo Bay being held for over ten years without a trial-- a thing I have lobbied against and spoken out against more times than I can count.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other... (insert distinction without a difference below to rationalize bias)

"This is not the responsibility of all Muslims/Americans" is absolutely not the same thing as "This had nothing to do with the Muslim religion/America".

terrorists hellbent on carnage ever lie?

So if one wants to reject the words of the leader of the nation that has been attacked, go ahead, Americans you have earned the right to give other nations advice on how to handle a terrorist attack.....am I right?

I repeat the words of the French President...these terrorists are not Muslims, you are seeing only the cloak they wear.
