According to law enforcement officials, Boumediene was with her husband when the pair shot and killed a policewoman and proceeded to take hostages (killing four of them) at a Kosher bakery in Paris. She somehow managed to escape either before or during the final police assault, officials claim.

So how did Boumediene, who is described as “armed and dangerous,” escape the same fate as her husband? Police union spokesman Pascal Disant suggested she may have slipped out during the “confusion” of the raid. 10 hostages were among those who escaped the premises during or after the firefight.

couldn't just let a perp slip away and escape, but it has happened before (Nairobi mall massacre)...Maybe she had a quick-change disguise or something...

It's just one of the possible scenarios, but it's the one the police there have put forth at this point as being likely.

Boumeddiene entered Turkey Jan 2, may be in Syria: Turkish source

Ankara (AFP) - Hayat Boumeddiene, the wanted partner of one of the gunmen shot dead by police after three days of high drama in France, arrived in Turkey before the killings and may now be in Syria, a Turkish security source told AFP Saturday.

"She entered Turkey on January 2," the source said, adding that Boumeddiene had a return ticket from Madrid to Istanbul.

The source said she was believed to have moved on to the southeastern Turkish city of Sanliurfa and then to Syria but there was "no concrete data" to prove this.

The source said Turkey did not arrest her because of a lack of timely intelligence from France. "We do not have the luxury to prevent everyone entering without intelligence sharing," said the source, who asked not to be named. "If the intelligence sharing had been timely then she could have been extradited."

------------

Authorities believe she may have been involved in coordinating the attack - some kind of "go-between"/"middle-man".
