Is it me or are the Right-Wing Candidates getting more and more asinine in their comments?

Last edited Wed Jan 14, 2015, 04:31 PM - Edit history (1)

I have paid attention to politics now for about 23 years. I have seen my share of the silly season called primaries. The wingnut candidates come out and crap all over each other and try to position themselves as the "MOST" Conservative and "MOST" anti-government.

But so far in this early season it seems like we are hearing some of the most ridiculous quotes thus far. Romney just quoted as saying if he was President there wouldn't be an ISIS. Paul saying the 50% of the people on Disability are faking it for benefits. And you all know the other insane shit these people are saying.

It seems these people used to keep their rhetoric a little more poised, less extreme, and thought out. But now they really say the most vile, hateful, and incorrect things openly. Have I just forgotten it was just as bad four years ago or is it worse today?

I truly think the Republican knows that in 2016 they have a very big uphill battle. If Hillary runs...she has a huge chance of winning. In addition, the left has a great stance to take the Senate back.

The Right Wing lives mostly in a fact-free fantasy world, and so they say anything at all that comes into their heads.

I've been paying attention to politics somewhat longer, and there's always been a lot of dumb things said. I know that every single election cycle everyone says this is the worst one ever.

And there are more of them spewing it. That's what happens when a bunch of uneducated, ideological newbies with no governing experience bullshit their way into office.

Faux News, Alex Jones, etc. have emboldened these idiots to say any crazy thing they want, since facts should be no more important than their beliefs. Thanks to pioneering right wing shock jocks, mega church pastors, and looney-tunes politicians, it's now completely acceptable to say just about anything and not only get away with it, but have their followers cry anything from bigotry to treason if anyone points out reality.

It is going to be a complete circus. Sell any ownership stakes of any circuses around the country (not that any of us would own them) because the next 16 months is going to be a complete clown show.

It's going to be crazy statements, attacking each other, spending all of their donors money and what we will have at the end is an incredibly bloody and beaten candidate who is cash starved and against whom we have a treasure trove of statements with which to hold them accountable.

They all try to one up each other on insane remarks. It seems like there are no remotely normal Republicans running anymore. (I refer to this as the likes of a Bob Dole or Tim Pawlenty.)

5. We know they did not win because American's favor their ideas but they do not. They think that

these idiot ideas are what people want to hear and what they want them to do. So yes they are getting louder. They are surrounded by yes men who also do not know the real situation or just don't care. They watch faux news for heavens sake.

This mistake is going a long way to end their hopes in 2016.

From the hatred and lies that many of the new batch were spewing during the elections, I would have to say that the voters who elected these vermin are in complete agreement with their ideas!

Voting to put a bigot into office means that you like what the bigot has to say! And the voting booth provides all the anonymity that a closet racist and bigot needs.

vote they would not have won. My dad always told us "If you do not vote then you are voting for the opposition." That is who I am referring to.

I think it is the constant echo machine that has worn them down. They live in a bubble from TV, radio, and print. The propaganda machine at first seemed like a dream come true for the GOP when it slowly kick started in the 80s. Now a generation later they all believe their own propaganda. Their is no one left that knows what is a lie and what is the truth.

I Honestly don't understand their conversations anymore because I've removed myself from the bubble. They talk about shit at depth con 5 level of hype and your look at them like "Huh, you know that isn't true right... right?"

It's sort of like they "have to" go over the top, lest they be thought of as not conservative enough. Every year I visit some relatives and both they and their circle of friends are the absolute archetype of the hard-right angry conservatives. A small but intense bubble. Hearing them speak of certain candidates and pols tells me why they are being pandered to by those wishing to do so. Any candidate that sounds even center-right by our standards is viciously derided as being "left wing" or "progressive". They think John McCain "is a windsock" and have conniption fits whenever he says anything remote remotely reasonable by our standards.

But they are a very reliable and activist group for the "GOP Inc" to draw support from. They're in-the-bag votes.

I stopped of in a small town near Cocoa Beach for a bite to eat. There was a billboard for some local politician with his picture with the caption "The Most TRUE, REAL, GENUINE Conservative" in Florida. Like he's super duper mega million times uber Conservative.

It made me crack it. I should have stopped for a picture.
