12 Historical Women Who Gave No F*cks

http://www.buzzfeed.com/hannahjewell/historical-women-who-gave-no-fcks#.ymMP2rVOYG

1. Dr Elizabeth Blackwell (1821–1910)

English-born physician Elizabeth Blackwell was the first female MD in the United States. Rejected by many medical schools due to her gender, she ended up getting a place at the Geneva Medical College in New York, where she had to put up with a lot of douchebag classmates and a professor who thought she should leave the room for lectures on reproductive anatomy in order to protect her “delicate sensibilities”.

Turned out she didn’t give a fuck about delicate sensibilities and went on to become a world-famous obstetrician.

The rest at link.

Hey, the only way for anyone, man or woman, to influence anything in history is to give no fucks whatsoever. Like, see that dot in the distance? That's the fuck you almost gave. Goodbye fuck.

Now everyone go out and make some fucking history.

encountered on an on-line article. I usually try to avoid the commentary, but that one is the absolute perfect response to a kick ass article.

On the subject of Hedy Lamarr It's Headley

Sorry couldn't resist.

Might have included Maria Mitchell. Francis Perkins also comes to mind.

is the precursor to my Alma Mater: Hobart College, which then co-ordinated (not joined as they are separate colleges under a single president) with William Smith College.

Blackwell House on the William Smith part of campus is a dormitory for William Smith Students

It's a great old Victorian house!

"legitimate" child (i.e. legal heir) and had a really sad but intriguing life. And Beatrice Potter Webb, co-founder of the London School of Economics and a Fabian socialist would probably have enjoyed DU. Quite a crew...

I think she would have a low tolerance for DU (or any online forum). She was friends with GB Shaw; not likely to find that level of discourse online.
