I know the good old Arianna used to be a Repuke, but wasn't Huffington Post originally a progressive website?
All their f*****g "polls" are reported breathlessly and only show "Obama in trouble." This flies in the face of anything else I've seen, heard, or read.
WTF?

(95,337 posts)Because if we get too comfortable in this election we could see Obama losing.
I'd rather keep the race close so we know the Obama supporters will be out there in full force!

trolls attack HP's "liberal" polls with all their numbers and cheating. Liberals don't care about Huffpost anymore.

(6,960 posts)My college son, who enthusiastically voted for Barack Obama four years ago, is not going to vote for him this time. (He goes to CU; did not go to hear Obama yesterday.)
He'll probably skip the presidential race or vote for a third party candidate.
The poll the original post is referring to that is on Huffington Post right now simply reflects the disillusionment and ambivalence some young folks feel towards Pres. Obama.

There maybe reasons to dislike the Huffington Post these days, but don't blame inconvenient news or reports on the web site.
I also think Pres. Obama is in bigger trouble than a lot of people here at DU want to believe ... hundreds and hundreds of millions of super PAC dollars are going to mean a tough climb; and, in my opinion, I think we are also going to see a downturn in the economy before November.
Don't get mad at Huffington Post and stick your head in the sand -- Obama's reelection is far, far from a 'done deal'.

(4,150 posts)But I STILL find Huffington Post's polls biased & unreliable, as they consistently show ONLY negative information for Obama whereas, at the VERY least, other polls showed a mixed message.

(6,960 posts)It's an AP story.
It's not a Huffington Post poll.
The story cites a 'Harvard' poll.

(116,464 posts)"Younger Voters Shift From Obama "
...bogus HuffPo spin to give the impression that Romney is benefitting. He isn't. From the piece:
But a new Harvard poll suggests the president may face a harder sales job with younger voters this time around. Obama led Romney by 12 points among those ages 18-24, according to the survey. Among those in the 25-29 age group, Obama held a 23-point advantage.
What was the lead among voters under 25 in 2008?
Here's another report on the same poll:
<...>
Obama still holds an advantage in terms of mobilizing young voters. The survey found that 17% of Obama voters said they were very likely to volunteer for his campaign if asked; another 35% said somewhat likely.
Only 5% of Romney voters said they were very likely to help, while 27% said somewhat likely.

So Obama's lead increases by six points and Huffpo is pretending that Obama is losing ground?

(36,418 posts)Arianna is a political and economic opportunist disguised as a celebrity. The site has had a few decent columnists, but few of them ever got paid, and they are outnumbered by Neocons and Wingers. It's owned by AOL, which is if I recall correctly had Alexander Haig on its Board. It's content is a cross between a Murdoch tabloid and a free bus stop throwaway.
I'm surprised that anyone here actually reads it.

(6,716 posts)when it first started, but ever since it merged with AOL it has turned into a cesspool. I saw earlier where they had an article about the President losing ground to Romney with the youth vote...so obviously horrible.
