I have been (almost) completely sparred any awareness of Fox News since its inception. I say "almost" because I'm told it's often on in public places, but I'm almost always successful in avoiding it entirely, either by sitting so I'm facing away or where I can't hear it, or by simply ignoring it. And I'm not kidding-- years of reading about Fox News on DU have highlighted the degree to which I'm completely ignorant about it. I've never once watched any of its conservative talkers. I don't know the names of any of it's anchor persons, nor would I recognize them if I saw them.

What's the key to this blissful, Fox-less life?

Turn that noise off. I haven't watched a television (other than in peripheral vision) in twenty+ years, going on thirty. Believe me, avoiding Fox News is only the beginning of how much better life is without the squawking box. But I can honestly say, unless I read about it here, I never give a thought to Fox News. If I hadn't read about here, I probably wouldn't even know it existed.

liberal city in the state--now I had to move to a small town to care for my mom. No she does not watch Fox (she has mobility problems--still votes, keeps up with the news). But I am surrounded by a sea of RED!

I noticed they had Glenn Beck's station on in the interim.
