Republicans began plotting how to derail Obama on Inauguration night 2009

Another tidbit from Do Not Ask What Good We Do by Robert Draper, courtesy of the Huffington Post:

"As President Barack Obama was celebrating his inauguration at various balls, top Republican lawmakers and strategists were conjuring up ways to submarine his presidency at a private dinner in Washington, D.C... For several hours in the Caucus Room (a high-end D.C. establishment), the book says they plotted out ways to not just win back political power, but to also put the brakes on Obama's legislative platform."

"The dinner lasted nearly four hours. They parted company almost giddily."

Obama tries to find common ground with them.

A smart politician (or smart advisers) would have suspected after the first time or two of the GOP's obstruction that there was no reaching consensus with them, that political pressure by constituents resulting from the President going directly to the people explaining his policies was the only means to break them.

It was their calculation of voter anger with gop obstruction that was wrong.

to anyone paying attention, you could see them plotting and planning during the time of waiting for the inauguaration. It was also obvious that many so called Democrats were involved too, that is helping the republiCONS along with the media.

They have been doing it day in and day out wolf blitzer is one of the ringleaders in the media Dana bash, john king among others. I heard wolf today say that the President is harping on the student loan issue and he also said the President should have stood up for Dana rochenbacher against Karzai.

They seem to think that we haven't been watching their so called reporting during different administrations and we have plenty of videotape.

I thought that he (Blitzer) was suppose to report the news not give us his commentary on what the President should and should not do.Asshole!!!
