Phone has been fine until today. LG phone, AT&T carrier.
Today I have a big problem and don't know how to address it.
Charged phone 6AM.
Tried to make a call 3 hours later. The phone will not even light up for options. Dead? No reception? Don't know what to do. Do not have land line to call AT&T.
Any ideas?

(5,018 posts)i dont know how you reset an LG but there would be a button or two pushed at same time
battery could be not properly charging, over time they will lose the ability to accept a charge or keep it for very long
you have to determine if your phone is working and lighting up and so on but NO service, that is one problem
or
phone wont power up at all, another problem, based on what you said i assume this is what you are experiencing

(23,156 posts)My ATT&T phone has service. I'm in Santa Fe, NM.
Can you contact them on-line? You clearly have your internet working. Or neighbors who might let you phone them from their phone?
To be honest, this is among the reasons I keep both a landline and a cell phone.

(15,438 posts)and couldn't send me texts or make calls to the house. So he e-mailed me from work. He has an iphone 4s, I have an iphone 6 plus. My phone was working just fine. I told him to shut down and restart his phone, and it worked perfectly afterward. Try that.
Oh, and yes, we have AT&T here on SoCal.

(146,317 posts)Something's up with the phone itself. Try removing the battery, re-installing it and then connect the charger. You should get some indication that it's charging. If not, it could be the charger's bad, or the cord. If you have another charger or cord, try that. If you have a spare battery, try that. If none of that works, the phone could be hosed. Can you get to an AT&T kiosk somewhere?

(86,646 posts)try removing the battery - if that's possible - wait a few minutes and put it back in. I don't have an iphone thingy, still using cheap, old flipphone.

(7,473 posts)I have waited to see what options might be presented. We have had a snowstorm here, perhaps that is part of the problem. If the phone does not work by tomorrow AM, I will go to the AT&T store for advice. I don't understand why you are upset about my lack of immediate reply. Not everyone is here all the time. I will post results of my inquiry as soon as I can figure out what happened.
Thanks to all for suggestions.

(7,473 posts)Before I tried to remove the battery, I plugged the phone into a different outlet. Bingo. Phone back. I don't understand why the original outlet did not work, I use the same one for my hairdryer and that works. The battery indicated that the phone was charged before I tried the other outlet.
