...on the coffee table for the last 2-weeks and finally had the time to watch it last night.

I had seen IG before and had not paid much attention to the details of the "Film within a Film", but it certainly struck a cord with me watching it this time, in the aftermath of AS.

In full disclosure, I haven't seen AS, but since I have seen IG at least twice now, I have no need.

I saw the title, "American Sniper" so I rushed out to see the film. I was very disappointed. I thought the film was about Charles Whitman and the Texas massacre, but it was about a different delusional American sociopath who killed large numbers of people with a rifle. The American in the new movie is not condemned as a mad dog killer like Charles Whitman but actually gets a bunch of medals.

Some choice quotes:

Yeah - I had the misfortune to see it on Saturday. Big mistake!

Awful, awful film! Wish I'd researched it a bit more before I went to see it! It turned out to be nothing like I thought it might be. I feel sullied for having gone to see it!

Yeah, didn't realise it was about a real person - and a gun loving, redneck, meat headed twat at that!

the fact that this film is being praised by the American right is enough reason for me not to bother seeing it.

Awful American Machismo Total absence of irony (I waited the length of the movie but it never arrived)
