(16,184 posts)Sure, it has absolutely zero peer-reviewed independent studies to say it does anything, but I pinkie promise it'll protect you from measles.
Oh, my bad, those are anti-vaxxers.

(11,258 posts)I guess we have superior intellects here. If you want to discredit vaccines, do a proper scientific study. Use real science. Real statistical methods. Show a genuine understanding for the science and math. Until then, away with you.

(15,429 posts)When the normal measles went through the town, one kid ended up with severe brain damage. Normal kid one day, caught the measles, and ended up being severely disabled the rest of his life.
This was a town of just under 2000 people.
People refuse to remember the horrors.

(24,032 posts)I once suggested to a dad who had decreed that he and his wife were no longer going to immunize their children because their church had told them it was a contamination of God's pure creation that he might want to research that a bit. He returned a few weeks later with a book by a preacher entitled something along the line of "Immunizations - Lies and Deception." I doubt the author of that book could have answered any of those questions.
I knew I stood the proverbial snowflake's chance of getting thru to him.

(6,810 posts)Pleasant fellow, but bit of a one trick pony with his project: He build a giant penis. Every now-and-then, the old server would get "griefed" and as a community we were all duty-bound to conduct de-griefing operations on projects that'd been hit in the raids (It's that spirit that made ours one of the oldest and longest-lasting (and STILL running to this day) free public Minecraft servers). Fortunately, Hari's project was well-south of the spawn point, so most griefing raids missed it.
Cleaning lava off a giant penis took hours.

(35 posts)All vaxxes were bad. The backlash against anyone with mildly reasonable doubt is just a bit suspiciously deafening. I know that the enzymatic proteins and sugars aren't all that damaging and that the metallic suspension agents are supposedly under toxic quantities but for certain vaxxes there are real questions over efficacy and whether its worthwhile. Pharma is using this public shit fit as a reason to lobby for more power to dispense their wares and make it required to buy them.
