I could choose to roll around in a medical waste dumpster.

We can all choose a great many things to do in America. Go to church, rob a store, paint our faces and bellies and go to a football game and act like a complete moron. In all those choices, I've never run across anyone that wants to have the right to get their kids infected or high on crack or irradiated. Do you want your kid to get sick, get sores all over their body? Run a high fever? You could hold your child under a cold shower and get them sick.

So, how many people here are going to get their kids sick? Show of hands. Right, nobody.

We argue over a lot of stupid shit on this site, but fighting over the right to choose to get your kids sick...is still your right and still so stupid I can't believe we are fighting over it. I also can't believe a parent (here) would do such a thing.

So who is with me!? Roll around in chemical waste or medical waste? I'll let you decide.

Who are in favor of nuclear power, the waste of which when released to the biosphere kills just about everything it contacts.

And it is being released. Every time a plant blows and even in normal operations. And that deadly waste will be here for thousands of years.

So there it is. Anyone seen the pink skies recently?

Only in the rest of the places with usually blue skies, there is now sometimes a shade of pink.

I suppose people in LA can't tell since they just love their polluted brown skies?

The sky is a beautiful blue.
But hey, your track record of being wrong consistently still stands!

Republicans and "big money" are pathetic little worms in my personal universe.

If I die homeless under insulating newspapers, living on the streets, I still win!

Could you do that?

Because you are a real winner?

Adm. Hyman Rickover, the Father of the Nuclear Navy and of Shippensport nuclear reactor. In the twilight of his career, he testified before Congress in January 1982. Below is an excerpt from his testimony. Given who this man was and what he did, his statements were profound.

Here’s an excerpt from Rickover’s testimony:

“I’ll be philosophical. Until about two billion years ago, it was impossible to have any life on earth; that is, there was so much radiation on earth you couldn’t have any life — fish or anything. Gradually, about two billion years ago, the amount of radiation on this planet and probably in the entire system reduced and made it possible for some form of life to begin…

Now when we go back to using nuclear power, we are creating something which nature tried to destroy to make life possible… Every time you produce radiation, you produce something that has a certain half-life, in some cases for billions of years.

I think the human race is going to wreck itself, and it is important that we get control of this horrible force and try to eliminate it… I do not believe that nuclear power is worth it if it creates radiation.

Then you might ask me why do I have nuclear powered ships. That is a necessary evil. I would sink them all. Have I given you an answer to your question?”

On the hazards of nuclear power.
Testimony to Congress (28 January 1982);
published in Economics of Defense Policy:
Hearing before the Joint Economic Committee,
Congress of the United States, 97th Cong., 2nd sess., Pt. 1 (1982)

That's what parents who don't vaccinate do. They put their kids at risk (btw they don't OWN their kids), and they put other kids at risk too.
