But then, in December 2004, Williams gushed to Brian Lamb about his great respect for Limbaugh. Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo! Oh, how the followers of this great man have been disrespected, he said:
WILLIAMS (12/26/04): I do listen to Rush. I listen to it from a radio in my office, or depending on my day, if I'm in the car, I will listen to Rush. And he will tell you I've been listening for years. I think it's my duty to listen to Rush. I think Rush has actually yet to get the credit he is due, because his audience for so many years felt they were in the wilderness of this country. No one was talking to them.

You should read the bogus questions he asked
democratic contenders for presidency in this link to see what a hack and liar he is.............
Exhibit A
(318 posts)I had no idea he was that kind of a person. I haven't really seen him in years -- my clearest memory of him is of watching him the night Princess Diana died. His comments made it seem like he was genuinely sad about her death, so I've always figured he was a decent guy. I hate it when people I think are probably okay turn out to be assholes. :/

(45,251 posts)least trying to maintain a facade of a high class, objective news operation. Few excelled at that charade more than the late Tim Russert, host of MTP and head of NBC News. In fact, he did so much for NBC News that several people replaced him when he died suddenly. Point is, NBC News leans right sneakily, while expecting what is due a truly objective news organization.

(752 posts)That's all I need to know about someone.
I have a sense of "duty" about any number of things in my life, and none of them involve Rush Limbaugh, radio personalities or media consumption.

He certainly didn't specify that, did he?

(752 posts)Certainly there are people who need to monitor the vile font of excrement and epic simplemindedness that gushes from this pusillanimous scoundrel and juggler of imaginary sins, worthy only to be mocked by the words of error- i.e.,

(210 posts)One more reason to dislike this empty shell of a man. Never liked him before. Now I know he is an apologist for the world's most famous hate hustler. I hope he gets fired and can't find work.

(12,392 posts)because several google threads list Williams as a "staunch democrat" and he has had some collisions with Rush in the past, also documented.
He is a friend of Jon Stewart, and has a similar sense of humor when he is on Jon's show, which makes me wonder if his Rush comments were meant as a warning, as in, "hey, pay attention, because this guy is giving a voice to a lot of nuts."

(45,251 posts)He might be a Democrat; he might not be. But nothing I've seen settles that. And, like most journalists who want to be taken seriously, he ain't sayin'.

NBC News, however, leans right.

(10,168 posts)It feels like he's being torn apart by wolves here.
There's no way he's an actual fan of Limbaugh; it's most definitely like you've said tavernier. And he is friends with Jon Stewart. Jon has made that clear several times on the show over the years. He's a good guy and a staunch liberal, ffs.
The guy made a super stupid mistake, for whatever reason. But that reason is NOT because he's a neocon sympathizer. That said, he's one of us and always has been.
