Declassify the 28 pages

Claims Against Saudis Cast New Light on Secret Pages of 9/11 Report

A still-classified section of the investigation by congressional intelligence committees into the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks has taken on an almost mythic quality over the past 13 years — 28 pages that examine crucial support given the hijackers and that by all accounts implicate prominent Saudis in financing terrorism.

Now new claims by Zacarias Moussaoui, a convicted former member of Al Qaeda, that he had high-level contact with officials of the Saudi Arabian government in the prelude to Sept. 11 have brought renewed attention to the inquiry’s withheld findings, which lawmakers and relatives of those killed in the attacks have tried unsuccessfully to declassify.

(snip)

Mr. Lynch and his allies have been joined by former Senator Bob Graham of Florida, who as chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee was a leader of the inquiry. He has called for the release of the report’s Part 4, which dealt with Saudi Arabia, since President George W. Bush ordered it classified when the rest of the report was released in December 2002.

Mr. Graham has repeatedly said it shows that Saudi Arabia was complicit in the Sept. 11 attacks. “The 28 pages primarily relate to who financed 9/11, and they point a very strong finger at Saudi Arabia as being the principal financier,” Mr. Graham said last month as he pressed for the pages to be made public.

Relatives of those killed on Sept. 11 as well as plaintiffs in a federal lawsuit against Saudi Arabia have also demanded that the pages be made public, seeing them as the vital link that they believe connects an important ally of the United States to the deadly attacks. They say the pages, Part 4 of the report, could also help in determining the source of current funding for terrorist activities.

The truth will not happen, from official channels.

Neither will the truth about who is funding IS happen.

In fact, the level of denial regarding that funding is something I've never seen before, and I'm getting pretty long in the tooth. That denial openly contradicts known facts.

Which can only make me wonder just what he knew about the attack. No, I am not suggesting a grand conspiracy only what did he and Cheney know and when.

"I am not suggesting a grand conspiracy"

When * was holding hands with the Saudi 'Prince' it seemed as though they were congratulating each other.

I know, just my take on it. BFEE has been behind so many of the ills suffered by this nation I will never believe
they weren't behind it. Too many things just didn't fit the 'official' line.

What's more, PNAC not only suggested it, but it was the Neo-Cons playlist for years.
A 'New Pearl Harbor', * really hit the trifecta there, eh?

What I could never grasp was how the MSM totally ignored the PNAC connection to the invasion of Iraq and the fact that the PNAC dominated the Bush administration. Jeb recruited has halfwit brother for the job of president since he knew that he could be led around like a trained monkey. Now that bastard has his eyes on the presidency and once again the MSM is totally silent about his support of the PNAC and their conspiracy to take us to war. If he is elected president there will be a resurgence of the PNAC and a war with Iran.

that it can be stopped. Saw the thread about Jeb being stupid, too, but then I recall that the 'stupid one' (*) stole $Billions for himself and buddies.

War with Iran would be a huge boon to that crowd. Another screwing for us 'little guys'.

that's why W got them out of the US before the FBI could even talk to any of them. Coincidence? I don't think so. I suspect that many of the same Saudis are behind ISIS. They are radical fundamentalists with tons of money, and we should hold them accountable, not be their ally.

the importance, post-9/11, to gradually reduce our dependence on the Saudis for our oil. That is, we needed their oil, but in light of how (it emerged) some of the money they were earning on high-priced oil was being directed towards Islamic fundamentalism, it was necessary to bring the price down and thus, dry up those sources of funding.

I also think this partly explains why Islamic fundamentalists have gone back into traditional means of raising cash, like taking hostages and piracy - the oil money isn't as good as it was. I doubt that it will EVER be as good as it was, for them. They messed up.

"We think The 28 Pages is really the tip of the iceberg; there are troves of documents that we've asked for through the Freedom of Information Act that bear on potential Saudi responsibility, and in every instance we've gotten back responses that they remain classified, or we've gotten documents that are entirely redacted, so this is a relatively comprehensive problem."
