Teacher arrested after trespassing into a Girl Scout camp, giving teen alcohol, authorities say

A Springfield-Platteview teacher and girl’s high school basketball coach has been arrested after he trespassed into a Girl Scout camp with an 18-year-old girl and gave the girl alcohol, authorities said.

The girl is a former Platteview student.

Late Tuesday, Sarpy County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Justin Dannelly, 38, on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and procuring alcohol for a minor. He also was cited for second-degree trespassing.

Dannelly is a sixth-grade teacher at Springfield Elementary School and the girls’ basketball coach at Platteview High School. He has been placed on administrative leave.
