Pentagon report: Putin might have Asperger's

http://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Pentagon-report-Putin-likely-has-Asberger-s-6064546.php

A 2008 Pentagon think-tank study concludes that Russian President Vladimir Putin may have Asperger's syndrome, according to a report obtained by USA TODAY.

It also suggests U.S. officials would be wise to negotiate with the Russian strongman in quiet spaces rather than large settings in order to curb his tendency to be defensive and reactive.

The study states Putin's "neurological development was significantly interrupted in infancy," resulting in his Asperger's diagnosis.

There's no way to prove the theory by contractors for the Office of Net Assessment, an internal Pentagon think tank, because researchers couldn't perform a brain scan on the Putin.

Before anyone hits that "Alert abuse" button, I've got several scanners programmed with railroad frequencies and, even worse, one equipped with crystals for railroad frequencies.

The man who invented trainspotting: It has become a dirty word, but why?

And so trainspotters remain safe to laugh at. Exclusively male, they are, perhaps, the last minority group that can be reviled without fear of opprobrium. But perhaps not for much longer. The trainspotter, it was recently revealed, may be psychiatrically challenged. Dr Uta Frith of the Medical Research Council's Cognitive Development Unit, has said that trainspotters and other obsessive collectors of trivia, may be suffering from Asperger's Syndrome, a mild form of autism.

The syndrome, identified by a Viennese doctor shortly after the Second World War, is characterised by social ineptness, an over-literal and pedantic approach to language, a lack of sense of irony or humour and obsessively pursued hobbies - finding, as it were, safety in numbers.

Gee, it's certainly easy to find links.

Railfans and Asperger Syndrome?

Been there, done that, have the Kodachromes.
