KEARNEY, Neb. Two Kearney High Schools students shared a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity Thursday: a conversation with Pope Francis.
The students, Isaiah Bauer and Teynor Krason, were able to speak to Pope Francis via a Google Hangout, a video chat application that allows users from different parts of the world to connect and converse. In total, the students spent about 20 minutes on Google Hangout and spent about two minutes directly speaking to and hearing from Pope Francis. Students from Spain, Brazil, and India were included, but KHS was the only U.S. school represented.
After speaking with the pope, Bauer and Krason said that they were a combination of nervous and excited.
"He seemed like he was really interested in what we had to say, and what we thought of things," Krason said.
