There's a slide show at the above link with views inside & outside after the renovation. I don't know how many closed Walmarts there are around the country, but this is sure a great use for them.

It was primarily the city of McAllen as far as I know. My wife and I use the library a lot...great genealogy section.

but, there are HUGE amounts of wasted space that must cost a ton to cool in the summer months (I assume the climate there is pretty roasty in the summertime). i hope it doesn't end up costing them in the long run.
