Historic Braves-Padres brawl 8/12/1984

This was one of the nastiest bench clearing brawls in baseball history.

A lot of these guys are no longer with us: Eric Show, Alan Wiggins, Pascual Perez, Rick Camp, Tony Gwynn and umpire John McSherry and manager Dick Williams.

Dontcha just love the National League?

Whenever I see any batter deliberately hit by a pitch, (Mariner fan, now, so I have to contend with American League rules), I subconsciously recall the incredible ending of that Padre/Braves match-up.

(fortunately, none of those fellas could ever win a boxing championship)
