that every fucking internet provider out there now seems to feel compelled to employ?
I have no clue what you are talking about.

(23,926 posts)from a variety of internet providers who decry the "half-fast" (read: half-assed) internet service offered by their competitors. Maybe it's just the curse of living in the DC Metro area. Sorry for your angst.

(6,604 posts)a prominent ISP has been running a spot with a snotty kid in a spelling bee nailing "fasterer."
Haven't encountered the "half-fast" thing yet, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time, no pun intended.

Being also an Australian citizen, I visit there fairly often, usually 2-3 times per year.
The Australian commercials are not perfect but son-of-a-bitch,,,they act like they're talking to a pack of intelligent, educated citizens who can comprehend the math of 6X8.
I come back here (America) and have to put up with the most childish, retarded bullshit on the planet..."Oh Look!!..Something Shiny!"
"Look at the New Car"!!!! (everybody stops what they're doing and looks at some ordinary egg-shaped automobile)
Ah....yeah..Right!
End of Rant.

(62,325 posts)to watch American ads after you have been away from them for a while. I think they are created by pre-pubescent boys, sons of wealthy people. Because there is no way any intelligent adult is responsible for what we are exposed to.
The ones that are the most disgusting are the ones where some spoiled child is telling their parents what to do, what to buy, with a know-it-all attitude.
I think our advertising business is a test to see how low they can set the bar and still get people to stupidly buy what they are selling.
Apparently is it is pretty low, because they keep reaching further into the gutter.

(25,026 posts)I got AT&T relying on a little bit of cute ads but a lot more annoying door to door harassment to get Uverse and their DSL which I think tops out at 20mb and Time Warner who isn't particularly trying that I notice and doesn't have to. They've got ads but nothing particular and often low production values.
Theoretically you could say there is satellite but the service is so crappy and expensive that it wouldn't surprise me if ground based providers pay the satellite companies to keep them going just to be able to tell know nothing and shady politicians that they have competition in their monopoly markets.
