Last July, an in-law of mine predicted $5.00 gasoline by Christmas.

He said, "Obama's going to make us pay $5.00 per gallon for gasoline."

Recently, when I had paid $1.92 per gallon, I asked him about that prediction. His answer: "He's still going to do it. You just watch!"

I give up.

But he hasn't taken your guns! - Just wait; he will.

Of course, Presidents don't have the power to control gas prices, nor can they "take your guns."

Doesn't matter. There's no arguing with these people.

People are forever saying that "Obama's going to" do something or another. Even when that doesn't happen after a long period of time, they sometimes still believe that it will. Lots of cognitive dissonance going around. Maybe we need a vaccine for that.
