(62,683 posts)iPad 3 was contageous! I was debating between an iPad2 and the iPad 3, but now I think my mind's made up. And I'll have the best resources here on DU!
How about you?

(53,661 posts)What a relief. I hate deadlines that require unfamiliar programs that don't interact with my Mac.
As far as the iPad, I'm not planning on ever getting one. Because I don't think I'd ever have a need for it. What are you planning to do with it? I'll go over to the group and what's got you excited. In the meantime, our taste of summer left again with a gale.
I woke up cold enough last night to turn the heat on, but it's snowing a little in the mountains, which holds our water for the summer. I'm expecting it'll still be cool enough to wear a jacket or a duster for July 4th.
A big difference from when I was growing up in the scorching heat. It's strange, my friend back there is hating the heat and I'm getting a bit tired of the cold. A big reversal for both of us.

(62,683 posts)have PowerBooks or MacBooks or iMacs -- just have the an iPad because they wanted one, I think.
I'm going to temporarily use it in lieu of a laptop. I had a PowerBook stolen and wasn't able to afford a new one, so have been suffering with iBooks ever since. I shouldn't say suffering -- they've done the trick.
I primarily just use it for internet access and email, and that's about it. Reminds me of people who only use their microwaves to heat up coffee. And although I know I don't need a Mac product to surf and email, I just really don't want to use a PC and Windows. I'm sure you understand.
We're still turning on the heat here in Seattle, but it's just a little cooler than normal. I actually prefer it!
Have a great weekend -- so glad you finished your project!

(2,657 posts)So he caved on his veto threat. I don't know if I can call this a win or what. This is like chopping off your thumb because your leg is bleeding.
This is what pisses me off about President Obama. He promises he's going to Veto something stand firm BUT he never does! He's basically helping to dismantle HIS OWN health care bill.
I know how important student loans are and how low rates are important HELL my sister and I had student loans and dealt with paying them off BUT this is crazy.
In some western countries education is basically free. Yeah, you may pay a few hundred dollars for books or something BUT education is basically free.

(11,856 posts)The bill has to go to the Senate before it can get to the President.
Please start over.

(62,683 posts)it's not even close to being on Obama's desk for a veto or a signature.

(2,657 posts)going to veto anymore. I told you I could not actually open the huffington post link AND I've seen too many headlines now at days that have been misleading so I try and read the article before taking the headline at face value.

Regardless, I don't think we need to worry -- the Senate won't pass it.

(62,683 posts)I get myself all worked up in a tizzy and find I'm either ranting about something that has absolutely nothing to do with the topic, or I misunderstood what I read.
