Republicans Try to Goad Hillary Into Campaigning Early

The Republican National Committee on Tuesday launched its latest anti-Hillary Clinton effort, a campaign dubbed “Hillary’s Hiding” that hits the former secretary of state and presumed 2016 hopeful for being MIA on the public campaign trail.

According to Politico, which got a sneak peek of the multimedia strategy, the effort will include billboards in early primary and caucus states like Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, op-eds, and videos.

The general goal of the GOP effort is to highlight the fact that Clinton has been noticeably absent from the national conversation in recent months. “Why would a would-be presidential candidate behave this way?” RNC communications director Sean Spicer wrote in his pitch to reporters. “Because she’s made a strategic decision that the only way to ensure she is the Democratic nominee is to make everyone think she’s inevitable.”

It’s a somewhat odd campaign, though, in no small part because of timing. We’re currently 21 months away from Election Day, after all. If Clinton jumps into the race in April as expected, that will still be a year and a half before voters go to the polls. Yet here we have Republicans trying to score a few points by criticizing a woman they like to paint as a career politician for not doing what a politician typically does. That’s an awkward sell, even if it feeds into the conservative talking point that Clinton somehow feels as though she is owed the presidency. Regardless, it’s hard to imagine that a year from now voters will be lamenting that the 2016 campaign hasn’t been long enough.

Thanks Republicans, we probably won't hear an announcement until July or August now.

And to the editor talking about how we're "21 months away from Election day" the Democratic Primaries are 11 months away.

Republicans would complain that she's power-hungry because she's no longer a US-official but can't stop meddling.

delay in announcing has got their panties in a wad. Shes messing with Their Attack Rollout.....they Need Time Dammit....MORE time to Smear, Cause Fear and Defeat For The Kochs Win!

No matter WHO runs-I've said it before and I'll sat it again....WE need to respond Differently to the Usual BIG Money Campaign Ad buys--period. I think the one thing we can agree on is the corporate candidate who has the Most money in her/his campaign coffers are the very ones Undeserving of representing the US because they have, imo-ZERO intent on serving 99.9% of We, the People...and Dammit--"WE, the People" still Means something to Me.

I learned to: Shut it Off. Junk the emails. Use the mute button. Don't read, just recycle mailers. And with all that newfound time...RESEARCH the candidates ourselves and make a more informed Less Corporately Influenced Independent Decision. EDUCATE others of the benefits and improved imo-quality of life and freedom from pressures of manufactured FEAR of the "What IF Boom, Doom and Gloom" Or..the absolute Glorification of a Liar, Cheater and Thief bs
That's how We "get money out of politics" in the Short Term-imo
All, imvho--of course

Do republicans REALLY think Hillary is INEVITABLE???
How stupid are those people?

Democrats will have a healthy, vibrant, primary.
This IS the Democratic Party, right.
No candidate is anointed or inevitable.
