I learned last week that I get to keep my job and today I got to give my team the news that they are going to get to keep their jobs.
The company I work for is splitting and restructuring employees as they separate the business. Restructuring always equates to people loosing their jobs. My boss was one of the one that is loosing his job as part of this so, as they moved down the food chain, I was extremely worried. So much so that I was actively searching for a new job.
Last week I was asked to stay with the new company after the split and then today, I was given word that I could keep my team of employees. I couldn't wait to talk to each of them and give them the good news.
Now, I have to decide what to do with that job interview I have tomorrow. I just think how it could have been the other way, out of a job and no prospective offers in the wings.

And how wonderful for your group too.
As for the job interview? Maybe go, and tell them your good news. Or cancel. I'm not sure what I'd do in your place.

(2,679 posts)And most of your work mates get to also keep their jobs. That almost seems against the grain these days. Kudos to the biz that made the choice. maybe it will catch on with other corps? Let's hope its a trend not an anomaly.
Congrats!
