(33,032 posts)A moderate earthquake has rattled Southern California.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude 4.1 quake struck 8:07 a.m. Saturday. It was centered along the San Andreas Fault near Devore, in San Bernardino County. Some buildings swayed in downtown Los Angeles, about 60 miles to the west.

(2,431 posts)CA gets earthquakes all the time, but most are not felt.
There's a website where you can get updates on seismic activity, but I can't remember where just now. Gotta run, but I can try to find it when I get back...
EDIT: Capistrano Beach is about 60 miles south of Los Angeles

(15,438 posts)The who house rattled, but only briefly. It was strange since the sun's shining warmly with no clouds in the skies, and then the whole house shook for a couple of seconds.
My husband, on his way out to work, stopped and looked at me and asked, "Earthquake?" I nodded. My daughter comes down the stairs and says, "Earthquake!"
