(65,616 posts)Sadly, Christ is a blood thirsty warrior king to many. The same types scoff when you tell them Jesus was very liberal. Also, people cannot handle the fact that he was the first hippie in western culture.

(1,043 posts)...the publication of a book that would be a little less open to interpretation; that might explain the whole "self-sacrifice, acceptance and kindness" thing a little more clearly.
Kind of makes me wonder what kind of being really wrote it.

(6,891 posts)haired, blue eyed and lily white. He was a Galilean, possibly descended from Celts who migrated to northern Palestine in the 3rd century BCE and eventually converted to Judaism. Would it matter one way or another? Ashkenazi Jews are European and mostly lily white types. That doesn't seem to bother them too much.
