There's something about our President that I really like

He's disappointed me. At times he's enraged me.
But there's something about the guy that keeps me in his corner.
Maybe it's that in many ways he's been dealt a bad hand in his Presidency and he's handled it with some humility and intelligence.
Maybe it's that the guy has a center, a core; that he doesn't seem to me to be merely a suit filled with ambition and a sense of destiny.
Maybe it's that I can relate to him as a human being.
Maybe it's that he's faced with so much hate and ugliness.
Maybe it's all of the above.

But I'm still in his corner.

I think that he is a good man. I believe that he tries to be a good president. I do wish that he would do certain things, and not do others. But I am convinced that it is, by definition, impossible to be a "good president" at this time in our nation's history.

ANYONE else.

At this particular point in the macro situation, being putatively "neutral" or opposed makes you ir-relevant, no one's going to come after you and make it work for you in order to get your support, because they CAN'T authentically "move" the defining limits of the issues, especially right now, and anyone who says they can is mistaken or lying.

Each of us needs to find our communities and work to keep and increase our relevance to what is happening to this nation.

I love the story that he told about when he and Michele were first dating and he owned a 500 dollar car with a hole in the passenger floor board that you could see the road though. He knows what we're going through and for that I'm 100% in his corner. I feel he is in my corner so I'll do all I can to help him be a two term President. Its a tough corner to be in here in Oklahoma btw
I love our President and family

We can start with George Washington, I'm sure the native Americans had an opinion on that. What exactly do you think the legal position of POTUS entails?

The only one whoever suggested a Department of Peace was Kucinich. See where that got him, yet he supported Obama through last year when I met him, saying that he has access to more information than Congress is ever allowed to see.

The Kennedys believed mankind as a whole would renounce War; so did FDR. But they all were part of governments that did terrible things. And corporations do more terrible things, with paid militias, pollution, slavery and coercion, not including buying influence in governments. They hold more power than any national government, yet that is libertarian paradise.

So the 'terrible things' Obama is doing is part of the job we as a people, of over 300 million hired him. Of that group, 100 million are for war all the time as a way of life. Singling out any president for the crime that is war, the utter waste and lowering of the human condition and destruction of the life giving capacity of this planet, is blind.

Obama came into office in a time of war started by Bush. But really, this nation has been in an undeclared state of war with someone, somewhere, for its entire existence. As have most countries, but with more sublelty, through their business interests and religions.

No POTUS will escape the charge of war criminal and being guilty of crimes against humanity and nature. Even though of us who wanted to see Cheney and Bush in the dock, as the Rightwing and Paulies want Obama to be, have forgotten history.

Look back to Nuremberg. Who was it that held those tribunals, brought those Nazis to trial? Not the nation of Germany, but the occupying Allies and their armies did it by brute force and the deaths of millions to stop a killing machine that had slaughtered many more millions. Did they respect the liberty, property and freedom of the people in the countries they invaded, no matter how humane their intentions may have been and what mercies they showed?

War, by its very nature does not respect any of those things. Those are the fruits of peace and continuity... for some of the peoples of the world, but unfortunately never for all at the same time.

The Allies had the Germans at their mercy, and not all of the occupiers were kind and followed the laws of love and forgiveness in those days. The entire legal framework of Germany, rotten as it was, had to be eliminated for this to happen. Who really wants to give up our Constitution and Bill of Rights just in order to try Bush or Obama for these terrible things?

Which power does one wish to choose to occupy the lands of the USA, to divide it up and send people to wherever they say they will go, what they will do, what they bow down to? That is what it would take to eliminate the USA as a political entity and enforce these trials. How do those who want to see this happen envision it happening? Tossing out the baby and the bathwater together, to get to one man or even the MIC, which is not just in one country.

Do they truly believe that Ron Paul and his liberty and freedom brigades will respect everyone's rights? No zealot ever has. It's time for us to understand there is no Savior in any candidate.

when McCain suspended his campaign and they went to D.C. to meet with all the Wall Street greedy fucks who ruined the world economy - apparently candidate Obama took control and McCain sat there like a lump of coal. Everyone was quite impressed with Senator Obama.
