Jackie Robinson West All-Stars

went to the White House to meet the president after they 'won' the championship. They went to Disney World. They were interviewed and their story went viral.

The Mountain Ridge Little League from Las Vegas wasn't invited to the White House, didn't go to Disney World, and most of their fame was centered in Las Vegas where they were celebrated as the first team in Nevada to every make it to the Little League World Series.

With all of the concern about fairness, does anyone care about this team that was cheated out of the title, the opportunity to meet the president and go to Disney World?

Some believe you shouldn't bring this up during black history month, since JRW was an all black team... its a lack of sensitivity thing.

Even if JR did not allegedly cheat, Mountain Ridge may still not have won. So, I don't think they were cheated out of going on a press tour.

But I don't feel Mountain Ridge should have the press tour. They had their parades and such locally as the OP pointed out. They didn't win, so they should not get the full press tour, imo.

Pres. Obama should invite them to the WH and Las Vegas should be invited to Disneyland.

So, they did not win.
I have no issues with Obama inviting them, I just don't think they should have the full press tour because they did not win.

It's like if UConn men's basketball (the defending national champs), who met with Obama at the WH, had to vacate their title b/c of cheating, I don't think Kentucky (the defending national runner-up) should get a WH visit.

They are now the champions, and should receive everything that the fake "champions" received.

because Jackie Robinson West cheated. They filled their team with the best players they could, ignoring the same rules that Mountain Ridge apparently followed. If Mountain West had cheated also, maybe they could have filled their team with better ringers, but we don't know because they didn't cheat and Chicago did. Would Chicago would have still won if they hadn't cheated? Again, we'll never know.

But keep on believing that the Chicago team who cheated deserved the White House and Disney World and all of the media attention, and that the other kids don't. Why?

team from the black youngsters that live there because of the weakness of organized sports for youth, (meaning, e.g. paucity of adult organizers, mentors, trainers) so had to recruit from the suburbs where black youth get the benefit of more organized training, coaching and better equipment?

or is it about adults who wanted to recruit a winning all-black team by any means possible?

13. The adults were jerks who caused this mess by cheating.

I feel sorry for the kids on the Chicago team but they got the perks of the win; the Las Vegas team didn't, and probably won't, even though they are also the victims of those same adults who were willing to do whatever was necessary for the Jackie Robinson West team to win.

I think it's all about the adults.
