Topeka Public Schools is taking action to offset hundreds of thousands of dollars in budget cuts expected to come over the several months. In all, USD 501 expects to lose more than $800,000 over the next four months, according to Superintendent Dr. Julie Ford.
The loss is due to a one and a half percent allotment that Gov. Sam Brownback ordered for the state's K-thru-12 public schools when January revenues fell short of expectations.

(1,314 posts)The three majors, Wichita State, Kansas State and KU are to lose approximately $1.7 million, $2.0 million, and $2.5 million, respectively. Now I doubt the schools would cut their basketball programs, but if they did, there'd certainly be hell to pay.
