Five Reasons No Conservative Should (Have) Support(ed) Reagan

Truth Out recently told us Five Reasons No Progressive Should Support Hillary Clinton.

Here are Five Reasons Conservatives Need to Hop in Their Time Travel Machines and Take Back Their Votes for Reagan. From Think Progress:

1. Reagan raised taxes seven times (in California) making him a tax and spend liberal.

2. Reagan increased the size of the federal government.

3. Reagan liberalized (California abortion laws in 1967), making him a Baby-Killer of the worst kind.

4. Reagan dreamed of creating a world free of nuclear weapons. He said so in his memoir.

5. Reagan gave sanctuary to 3 million undocumented immigrants.

Preposterous? I don't think so. I just did what Joseph Mulkerin did in his much celebrated Truth Out piece. With the help of Think Progress I selected a few things that Reagan did and said in a long career in order to prove a point. The same way that Mulkerin selected a few things to prove his point. Like the fact that Clinton supported Obama's 2009 Afghanistan surge while ignoring the fact that she voted against the Iraq surge. Like the fact that she alienated gamers by trying to clean up violence in video games while ignoring that fact that as Secretary of State she tried to shine light on the plight of women who were victims of sex traffickers. Like the fact that she gets lots of money from the banking industry while ignoring the fact that she defends Frank-Dodd

“Attacking financial reform is risky and wrong,” Clinton, a former U.S. Secretary of State who’s considering a White House run in 2016, wrote Friday in a Twitter message. “Better for Congress to focus on jobs and wages for middle class families.”

Like telling us she is trampling on our civil rights by supporting NSA domestic spying without mentioning her long, active campaign to improve the wages of women and protect the rights of children and win equal rights for gays and minorities. Like telling us who her clients were several decades ago, while ignoring her long commitment to universal healthcare. Like telling us she loves fracking without mentioning that she is trying to raise awareness of Global Warming.

Clinton told the audience that climate change is “the most consequential, urgent, sweeping collection of challenges we face as a nation and a world.”

When there is nothing for Mulkerkin to pick or choose, he writes that she will almost certainly do something terribly unprogressive---(I quote)

In all likelihood, a second Clinton administration would involve

Mulkerkin knows what Clinton will do if she ever gets into the White House. How? In all likelihood he has a time travel machine which allows him to see the future. Which will allow Conservatives who read this piece to go back in time and take back their votes for Reagan.

Chew your food before you swallow and read the whole article before you swallow, too. "Five Reasons No Progressive Should Support Hillary Clinton" is a catchy title, but if you actually read it---and I mean really read it, not just nod your head and say to yourself "Another righteous soul who is onto Hillary's evil game"---you will find yourself wondering "Where's the beef?" Good grief. I could come up with five better arguments than those, and I am a Clinton supporter.

Ya see this is why we liberals should vote for conservative candidates. Apparently it is the only way to get our liberal ideas passed.

may seem like a good idea on DU but go out in the real world and prepare to be laughed at.
