(95,337 posts)She beat out:
Robert Downey Jr - who was considered the worst (totally forgot he spent that one horrible year on the show), those weird muppet things they had the very first season (which clearly didn't last) and Jim Breur, which I've seen Jim Breur do stand-up he was ok and I would definitely rate him higher than Victoria Jackson but not by much.
cui bono
(19,926 posts)But it hurts me to have my movie star crush beat by her in anything!
I rarely watched after some point. I do remember Breur's goat man, I think.

(47,209 posts)example of someone who thrived despite ill treatment- but had to swallow years of ridiculous sexist bullshit and try to make a case she and Amy Pohler belonged there, and could carry as skit as well or better than any man there.
But who knows what comedy gold was lost, what careers derailed over the years because a bunch of stupid dudes sat around and said things like "no one wants to watch two women" (out loud for fucks sake) to some of the funniest people on the show. Many think the ceiling is broken, but women are banging their heads on it all day long in the workplace. Why you think it's noteworthy that we cash the checks is beyond me.

to catch up on Sidney Poitier movies. You can watch 'Brother John' on EBLCK at 8 pm, 'The Defiant Ones' on TCM a 9 pm and 'They Call Me Mister Tibbs' on EBLCK at 9:40.
Speaking of BET... don't forget to set your DVR for parts 1 and 2 of 'The Book of Negroes'; a 6 part miniseries starting tomorrow night at 6 pm.
Personally, I've been enjoying 4 1/2 hours of Saturday Night Live tonight, but I've got my DVR set to record the others.

I was fortunate enough to befriend one of the original writers, Nelson Lyon, who shared so many remarkable and incredible stories with me.

(113,084 posts)I was in a long relationship with MO'D then and one of the scripts he was writing at the time was with Nelson - the sequel to Easy Rider that went into dispute and was never made.
Heh - vividly recall our dinner with Nelson and his lady at the time, Barbara Steele. For someone who grew up in Cleveland watching Ghoulardi, it was especially interesting. ; )
Mark Mothersbaugh was always fond of Nelson, too.
Good times. No
.GREAT TIMES!
Michael O`Donahue was Nelsons best man at his wrdding. It was a very small gathering and I got to meet Timothy Leary and sat next to Mark Mothersbaugh. A few years ago, I ran into Mark and he was trying to help Nelson get a book deal for his photographs. After Nelson died, Mark really stepped up and took care of a lot of things. Great guy.
