Medicare for All should be a top agenda item if we can win the House and increase our majority in the Senate. And keep BHO in place too, of course.

that it will not occupy the WH or control Congress for at least 40 years. That's why they fight it so hard.

But apparently this was the best we could get...at this time.

Now the repugs will kill Medicare, leaving that option unavailable to be brought up for discussion or anything else.

The argument amongst the insiders has always been about when the White House abandoned the public option. I think you'll find that even the insiders don't agree. Some became aware as early as July that it was THE major obstacle to cutting almost any of the other deals. It is traceable that about that time "leaks" started coming out about how the public option was gone. It was probably more likely that these leaks came from people who were trying to save it. That doesn't really mean that the deals had been cut yet. IF there is something to "blame" here, it is that the insiders began as early as July to let it be known that the PO was "trade-able". When Obama himself was on board may be never known. To some extent Obama himself may not really know. Considering he had twice gone before congress and declared his demand for the PO, it is probably true that he may have been one of the last "on board".
