Well, they DID accomplish blocking BO's attempts to pull our economy outta the crapper faster and to provide decent jobs to Americans.
Other than that gem they gave us- No, they didn't accomplish much. Thus their silly and hilarious whining.

(269,022 posts)I wish I were doing the ads for Obama - I'd unload a real Mission Accomplished one for the anniversary this week and play it twice a week until the election..
That's why Cheney tried to claim that he was partly responsible for killing him (which was fall down funny in and of itself).

(53,661 posts)They didn't want Obama to actually be a real C-in-C and thought the wars would end sooner. I think there were contracts and promises made that carried over.
Reading complaints about Obama's actions using the military, I restrained myself from saying what I really thought on other boards I used to post on. If I had, it would have read like this:
I was not voting for second coming of Jesus Christ, to bring eternal love and peace to the entire planet. I voted for the best POTUS. The job description entails life and death decisions that one can stand aloof from and safely look down on as a civilian. Obama can't.
The USA has been the major military power on this planet throughout my lifetime. It's not what I wanted, but that is what it is. Many of us who are anti-war may have benefited from that, though we don't like it. Much of the world doesn't see the anti-war movement as innocent, they assign collective guilt to every American, which is pretty much what the argument for invading Afghanistan, etc., was.
I felt no joy or sorrow about the death of Bin Laden, as he knew the game he was playing, but was relieved for the announcement itself. Because perception matters in such things. It could change the national focus, which needs to be here at home. I felt relief, even if it was only an 'excuse' to end the war and not invade Iran.
It could have Obama's Nixon moment of 'declaring victory and going home,' for all I cared. I care about the results. The right wants to keep the wars going and they have mobilized all their forces, the churches, media shills and lobbyists to argue for it.
The reason Bush gave for going to war was primarily Bin Laden & Co. That reason was eliminated in the most public way by Obama's announcement, which did not satisfy the left or the right, although nothing Obama has ever been or said meets their approval and never will, and that was enough for me.
I don't think this will work as both camps will find different reasons to be offended by emphasizing it.
Some of the left will say it was improperly done, that he should have been brought in alive, that his death proves Obama to be a warmonger and assassin.
The right will continue to say OBL is still alive because they haven't seen the body. Both sides argue OBL was dead years ago after seeing news stories and edicts he is alleged to have made during the Bush years.
So for that reason I think the campaign needs to focus on the basics and not this issue. IMHO.

(53,661 posts)Alienated by it. We're having a heck of a time with the media narrative when Romney gets away with claiming the auto bailout was his idea after he was against it. The cards are stacked against us this time, worse than with Kerry, I think. We'll see.
There is too much riding on this to lose this election or the state elections that are so crucial to giving Obama a true majority. If he stays in office a poor showing in the congressional races will still cause problems. And unlike FDR, he can't stay longer to clean up this mess.

BARACK Obama's top terrorism adviser has denied the US president is exploiting the anniversary of Osama bin Laden's killing for political gain.
"I don't do politics. I don't do the campaign. I am not a Democrat or Republican," said chief White House counterterrorism adviser John Brennan.
"All that I know is that the president made the decision when he was given the opportunity to take a gutsy decision, to carry out that raid with our special forces in Abbottabad, Pakistan," Mr Brennan told US network ABC's "This Week" program.
"The president made that decision. I think the American people are, you know, clearly very appreciative and supportive of that decision. We're safer today as a result," he said.
Mr Brennan noted that Mr Obama took the decision to go forward with the raid against the

ONE OF THE MOST DESPICABLE THINGS YOU CAN DO: WHAT MADE ARIANNA HUFFINGTON TAKE ROMNEYS SIDE OVER OBAMA?
Liberal commentator and online media entrepreneur Ariana Huffington appeared on CBS This Morning Monday, where she took a surprising stance on the so-called spiking the football ad focusing on the death of Osama bin Laden, released by the Obama campaign over the weekend.
I agree with the Romney campaign, that using the Osama bin Laden assassination, killing, the great news that we had a year ago, in order to say basically that Obama did it and Romney might not have done it .I dont think there should be an ad about that, Huffington told the panel, going on to say that she was not opposed to media coverage of the terrorists capture and death, But to turn it into a campaign ad is one of the most despicable things you can do.
The Obama campaign video in question features former President Bill Clinton applauding President Obama for the death of Osama bin Laden.
