Let me reiterate Benjamin Netanyahu's quote from 2002 on the War on Iraq..
"I guarantee you it will have enormous positive reverberations on the region"
We all know how this turned out and is still turning out. Netanyahu was Wrong then and he's Wrong now.

I totally stand with him, as in this case.
I think the ad is awesome, and hope it turns Orange-Man's

Washington, DC Today, the National Iranian American Council (NIAC) ran a full-page ad in the New York Times highlighting John Boehner and Benjamin Netanyahus outrageous political stunt that could kill diplomacy with Iran and start a war.
The U.S. and its closest allies are on the brink of a historic deal that will both prevent an Iranian bomb and war with Iran, and Congressional hawks are orchestrating political stunts with foreign leaders to try to kill it, said NIAC President Trita Parsi. The American people do not want another senseless military adventure and certainly dont consider Benjamin Netanyahu to be their commander in chief.

"All doubt has been removed: Netanyahu will oppose any peaceful deal with Iran and will instead seek to blow up the diplomatic efforts of the United States and risk starting a war, said Parsi. Congress better take into account that if they buy what Netanyahu is selling, it will be American troops who pay the cost.
And this..
"A recent CNN poll found that a majority of 63% of Americans oppose Boehners invitation to Netanyahu, which was orchestrated without notifying the White House."

for their own agenda...control.
snip*Myth: NIACs opponents are concerned Iranian-American supporters of democracy in Iran.
Fact: Actually, the campaign against NIAC is coordinated by far-right neoconservative activists and figures associated with the Iranian terrorist organization the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK).
Opponents of NIACs work have been working for a resurgence of the heavy-handed, pro-war, and anti-diplomacy approach of the Bush years an approach that is sure to fail and destroy any real chance of democracy in Iran and have undermined Obamas presidency to pave the way for their own return to power. The attacks against NIAC have further intensified as NIAC has grown and groups have increasingly seen NIAC as a threat to their agendas to win back political influence by any means necessary. Nearly all smears against NIAC have originated from just a handful of individuals opposed to the work NIAC does in support of a diplomatic solution to the conflict with Iran:

Netanyahu's Speech and the Politics of Iran Policy

(297,655 posts)where that Ad came from after I posted. I was wishing I had known more earlier and had put it in the OP..
Thank you for the article, Jefferson..
"Netanyahu's approaching speech to Congress is a reflection of the increasingly open interference in US politics by Israel and its political forces in the United States. In the most recent manifestation of the subservient character of a large proportion of the US Congress in relation to Israel, Senator Lindsey Graham (R.-S.C.) told Netanyahu, "The Congress will follow your lead" on Iran and would demand a role in the final settlement. The phenomenon is a direct result of the large campaign contributions that go into the coffers of those in Congress who "follow the lead" of Israel and to the opponents of those who fail to do so. Such is the power wielded by AIPAC that very few dare to stand up to its threats
There are limits to what an otherwise obsequious Congress will do for Netanyahu and Israel. Many members will not vote for a measure that can be credibly presented as an incitement to US war. Nevertheless, we are still likely to see a revealing contrast next week as Netanyahu is lionised (again) by the US Congress even as he is under fire in his own election campaign for his clumsy and possibly costly insult to the Obama administration."
I can only hope it's a costly insult that Netanyahu pays with losing his election.

So lets break it down...
1. War makes republicans and their friends rich.
2. It decreases the numbers of poor and working class kids.
3. They get to wave the flag and pretend to be America loving patriots while the poor peoples kids do the dyin, not theirs of course!
Thats a WIN...WIN for the bagger party folks!
Oh and this incidence with Netanyahu proves that they will betray their own country to get into another war as well!
