Very bad day.

I was sitting at light and kaboom, hit head on. I am black and blue all over, having a hard time with breathing and back is really bad. The guy hit many cars, it was crazy. It was an out of control truck. No way of stopping it. I think I was the third or fourth car he hit, I don't remember to much except for the roar of the engine and the sound of crashing and tires spinning. Really really scary, but I'm alive.

Glad you're still with us, but if that pain gets out of control, get to an emergency room. Internal injuries are no joke, and Head on collisions do a a lot of damage. Be well. Gentle hugs.

You need to document this stuff and start a paper trail in case something jumps up and bites you later.

Tomorrow you'll be hurting in places you didn't know you had.

I'm sorry this happened. I hope it wasn't some punk joy riding in a stolen car.

This guy had a seizure in his truck and hit 8 cars in the intersection. I was stopped at the light and this happened to me. After hitting me he car went all the way down another street hit three more cars did a donut and needed up in the restaurant. His foot has the accelerator depressed all the way, very scary.

Once you have one, you can't stop it. After it's over, your body is so wrecked, you fall asleep.

At least, that's how it is with me.

here's my advice for all it's worth. see the doctor, get some stiff pain medicine, muscle relaxers, and ibuprofen (never take one on an empty stomach though).
Then, lay down for as many days as you can and let your body heal.
Depending on the pain meds you may want to consider stool softeners and laxatives while you're at the drugstore just in case.

I take it the crash was caused by ice? Did everyone walk away?

I was only one of 8, the only thing that stopped him was the restaurant! His foot had the accelerator depressed all the way. He was unconscious behind the wheel. This all happened at an intersection with stopped traffic. It was horrible. He kept bouncing off of cars and then his car car would go into awful spins and smoke from his tires...OMG...his engine was roaring so loud, tires smoking...it was like a movie.

... of the incident.

My adult son had some loss-of-consciousness seizures at home two days in a row and the upshot was he was forbidden to drive for 6 months until he had a neurologist's letter stating he was using medication and had been seizure-free for that long.

For one thing, if you have proper insurance, your initial care will be covered up to whatever your limits are. Some years ago I was in a minor crash, thought maybe I had whiplash, and went to the ER. I never did figure out why I never got a bill until a decade after that I was working for an attorney who handled personal injury stuff.

Very glad you are mostly okay.

Get X-rays, EKG (seat belt injuries—you have one, trust me–can damage heart), blood work, sometimes a CT or MRI.

If you use a chiropractor, see him or her.

If you are taking pain meds, take a stool softener.

Don't be in a hurry to settle anything with his insurance company. Don't do a final sign off until you have to. You have two years. Generally, if you have latent injuries, they will show up by that time.

FYI, my insurance company has told me that if this is his first seizure his insurance doesn't have to pay out??? Some weird clause I presume. They want to meet with me next week to explain. So I assume all eight cars he wrecked and the restaurant he hit will have to file with there own insurance companies? In some small horrible way I hope it wasn't his first.

If pre-existing conditions aren't covered, then if this was the first sign that something was wrong with the driver, it seems like a payout should be a given.

Otherwise, anyone who died of a heart attack could be said to have 'begun' their death by not being in perfect health.

I will find out more on Monday. Funny thing is she actually said the same thing about having a heart attack. She said something like...medical emergencies are just that and if it's not a pre existing condition it doesn't have to be paid out under his insurance.
